Partnerships
Since 2020, INEOS Automotive has been working with The HALO Trust as a development partner for the Grenadier. Set up in 1988 by two former British soldiers, The HALO Trust is world’s largest humanitarian mine clearance and weapons disposal charity, operating in over 30 countries and employing 12,500 local deminers across the globe.
With more than 600 4X4 vehicles based in some of the most remote and inhospitable places on the planet, The HALO Trust needs an off-road fleet that is tough, reliable and fit for purpose. Seeing how drivers deal with the terrain and repair vehicles in challenging conditions and with only basic tools has helped shape the ongoing development of the Grenadier.
INEOS Automotive’s first programme with The HALO Trust was on an active operation in Angola, gaining first-hand experience of the tough working conditions the Trust’s 4X4 fleet encounters. Seeing how the charity’s vehicles negotiate pitted and sometimes undrivable roads, often making repairs in the field with only simple equipment, has helped shape the ongoing development of the Grenadier.
One of the Grenadier prototypes also helped The HALO Trust get to work clearing landmines in Kosovo. It’s not your average commute. The charity’s work often starts where the road ends. Seeing how the Grenadier handles Kosovo’s rocky, muddy, rutted tracks often in the snow and rain, helped INEOS Automotive with the 4X4’s development programme.
