SPANISH NATIONAL POLICE STRENGTHEN OPERATIONS IN EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS WITH INEOS GRENADIER
- 10 Grenadier 4X4s join the force, operating nationally within the Police Intervention Units (UIP)
- Grenadier chosen for its capability straight off the factory line, requiring minimal modifications beyond operational lighting, sirens and security measures
- This marks INEOS Automotive’s further fleet deliveries in Spain, following an arduous tender process
BÖBLINGEN, 28 May 2026 – The Spanish National Police has incorporated 10 INEOS Grenadiers into its fleet, assigned to the Police Intervention Units (UIP).The 4X4s will strengthen their operational capacity in particularly demanding environments.
The addition of Grenadiers responds to the need for resources capable of operating in extreme situations, where terrain, adverse weather conditions, or limited access make the use of conventional vehicles difficult. In such scenarios, mobility and mechanical reliability are decisive factors in ensuring both the effectiveness of the operation and the safety of the officers.
"As Grenadier enters its third full year of production, we are now seeing fleet users really backing our product in mission critical situations. The Spanish National Police are the latest in a growing line of service Grenadiers operating across Europe, the UK and beyond.”
Tony Lewis - Head of Fleet, INEOS Automotive
Specifically designed to work under harsh conditions, the INEOS Grenadier combines a robust ladder frame chassis with permanent four-wheel drive and class-leading off-road capability, making it a particularly valuable tool for police operations that require travel beyond paved streets.
These new vehicles will enhance the UIP’s deployment capability in rural areas, mountainous regions, natural spaces, or environments affected by emergencies, where rapid arrival and the ability to overcome obstacles can be critical. The Grenadier’s capability and local supply lines make it ideal for deployment in defence and public sector fleets across European countries.
Following multiple award wins and more than 36,000 vehicles delivered around the world, enquiries from fleets have significantly grown over the past six months and continue to accelerate. Global fleet orders in the first quarter of 2026 have come from a wide variety of organisations with different use cases, including the Kenyan Red Cross, Hertz rent-a-car in North America, and fire and rescue services in Germany, Spain and France.
